Yes, Goodyear, AZ, was named after the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company. Luckily for the company, this area used to have plenty of farmland where they could grow cotton for their tires. Today, though, Goodyear, AZ is anything but a sleepy farm town! Instead, it's a thriving Phoenix suburb.

More than 65,000 people now call Goodyear home, and the city is chock full of stores, restaurants, and fun places to hang out. In fact, plans are in the works to build a mall that would offer more than two million square feet of shopping!
Luckily, though, Goodyear is also home to Estrella Mountain Regional Park, which is made up of nearly 20,000 acres of desert and mountains. So, if you live in Goodyear, you'll have all of the big-city amenities you need, but you'll get to look out your windows and see things that most big-city residents can only dream of!
What about the homes for sale in Goodyear?
Goodyear has officially been a city since 1917, but the vast majority of development here has occurred recently. In fact, most of the construction took place after 1995, so most of the homes for sale in Goodyear are relatively new. (If you're wondering, the older homes tend to be on the southeastern side of the city.)
Many of the newer homes for sale in Goodyear sit in master-planned communities -- with the biggest being Estrella Mountain Ranch. (It’s also one of the most popular places to live in this area!) There are dozens of different neighborhoods to choose from, though, so it shouldn't be hard to find a home and an area that you absolutely love!
If you're looking for the most affordable homes in Goodyear, you'll likely find them south of I-10. However, on average, the homes for sale in Goodyear don't tend to be as pricey as the ones in Glendale and Peoria. So, if you're looking to get more bang for your buck, this can be a great place to do it!
